IBT College has been at the forefront of rapidly training Support Workers in Ontario. Strengthening the workforce is the key to solving the home care crisis. We have made large investments in AR/VR training tools, microcredentials and international recruitment to help the province.
Ontario is facing a 110,000 shortfall of healthcare workers by 2028. On October 20th, IBT College will host the first-ever Home Care Staffing Forum and Healthcare Career Expo in Sudbury (https://www.homecareforum.ca). The Forum is a professional development opportunity for Human Resource leaders, CEOs and Management as we discuss such critical issues as: Recruitment, Retention, Training, Leadership and Technology.
We will be focusing on issues specific to the Northern region of Ontario. James Rice, the Vice-President of IBT College, will be presenting strategies to recruit international healthcare workers to the region.
IBT College will be demonstrating its ground-breaking Virtual Reality Micro-credential training programs that include The Virtual Dementia Brain where individuals can experience dementia symptoms including unintentional movements, sudden sound and visual impairment or learners will enter a typical LTC facility and upon entry they will discover they are experiencing on of four different visual impairments.
“The Home Care Staffing Forum was amazing. The symposium itself had a lot of great information that will be valuable to our teams. We were able to network and connect with an array of folks that had developed innovative solutions to the challenges of recruitment and retention that we are all facing. There were speakers from a wide range of organizations that were able to talk about these challenges from very different perspectives which was also great learning.” Karen Pietrangelo, Bayshore Home Care Solutions
