Can I apply online?
Yes, all students are welcome to apply online. After receiving the requested documents, we start the enrollment process and, if everything is in order, you will receive a letter of pre-acceptance within two business days.
Can I apply even if I didn’t finish high school?
You certainly can. In such case you will be applying as a mature student. You will need to take a Scholastic Level Exam and score the number of points according to the program you want to take.
Does IBT College offer OSAP funding?
We currently don’t offer OSAP funding; however, we offer very convenient payment plans to our students for the payment of tuition and books.
Is medical insurance mandatory?
Only for international students.
All international students must provide the college with a copy of their health insurance card on their first day of class.
Do I need to take an English test to apply for enrollment?
Only international students.
As an international student, can I apply for the PGWP after graduation?
Students who have completed a private career college course do not qualify to apply for a Post-Graduate Work Permit. For more details, visit the CIC website.
Does IBT College provide accommodation for students who don’t live in Toronto?
While we don’t offer this service ourselves, we will always help you find the right place for you providing you with the links to common websites where you can find information about accommodation in Toronto.
Does IBT College offer scholarships for international students?
IBT College qualifies to register our international students of some specific countries for scholarships offered by the Government of Canada. For specific details on the countries that qualify for these scholarships, contact our International Networking Manager at gdiaz@ibtcollege.com
What does SLE test stand for? And who needs to take it?
SLE test stands for Scholastic Level Exam. It’s a test that measures the student’s cognitive ability. It’s a requirement from the ministry of education for those students who did not study high school or college in Canada; therefore, all the international students have to take this test before their first day of class unless their home country diplomas have been accredited by the World Education Services (WES) office in Canada.
My study permit was denied, but I would like to apply again. Is it possible?
You certainly can! You can receive a second letter of acceptance from us. Fees may apply based on some conditions. Please contact our international student advisor for more information.
I received my official Letter of Acceptance, but I didn’t apply for my student visa? Can I request a second letter?
Our student advisors carefully analyze the letters of Acceptance sent to international students. They are constantly checking the visa processing times to make sure that all the students have at least 3 to 6 months to request a study permit. If you missed the deadline to apply for your study permit, you must speak directly with our international student advisor because a new registration fee may apply.
Do you charge registration fee?
IBT College does not charge registration fee.
Is my enrolment deposit refundable?
In case of enrollment cancellations, we follow the Ministry of Colleges and Universities’ cancellation and refund policy. Based on such policy, we will keep a minimum of $500 from your deposit. The exact amount we will retain will vary depending on the point in time when you cancel your program.
I changed my mind about my program and I would like to change the start date or course type, is that possible?
Yes, our admissions process offers you the flexibility to adjust program and start date. Some fees may apply depending on the point during your admissions process in which you are at the point you make the change.
