IBT College is pleased to announce that it has been selected as the top-ranked private institution to design and assist in delivering Advanced Digital Skills Training under Ethiopia’s Skills for Jobs initiative. This selection reflects IBT College’s technical leadership, program quality, and strong alignment with workforce and economic development priorities.
This milestone marks the first time a private institution has been awarded this type of advanced digital skills and workforce development contract in Ethiopia, underscoring IBT College’s leadership and the role of Canadian education institutions as trusted partners in international skills development.
Under this initiative, IBT College will collaborate with the Ministry of Labour and Skills of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the State Minister’s Office of TVET, and the Office for Strategic Affairs to design and and assist in delivering a national Cybersecurity Program focused on workforce readiness and employment outcomes.
Ethiopia’s continued investment in digital transformation across government, industry, and public services has created a growing need for skilled cybersecurity professionals. Strengthening cybersecurity capacity is essential to protecting digital infrastructure, enabling economic growth, supporting innovation, and building trust in digital systems. This program will focus on practical, job-ready skills that support both national priorities and long-term employment outcomes.
With more than 25 years of experience, IBT College is a recognized Canadian leader in applied career education, advanced digital skills training, and innovative learning technologies, including virtual reality and AI-enabled instruction. Our programs are designed in close alignment with employers and focus on real-world competencies that lead directly to employment. This international delivery model directly supports skilled job creation in Ontario by sustaining employment in curriculum development, instructional design, faculty leadership, and educational technology development. It demonstrates how innovative Canadian institutions can grow domestic employment and export expertise globally, without solely relying on international student recruitment.
At a time when global mobility and international study pathways face increasing challenges, IBT College believes strongly in bringing high-quality Canadian education directly to partner countries. Our philosophy is rooted in building bridges—bridges that raise educational standards, share expertise, strengthen institutions, and create lasting international partnerships. International education is fundamentally about collaboration, opportunity, and shared progress. We believe education should be among Canada’s most impactful exports.
IBT College extends its sincere appreciation to the Ministry of Labour and Skills of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia for its leadership and trust, and looks forward to working together to support skills development, workforce resilience, and economic growth in Ethiopia.
IBT College is honoured by this opportunity and excited to begin this important collaboration.
IBT College gratefully acknowledges the valuable guidance, advice, and ongoing support of the Trade Commissioners in Ethiopia, the Embassy of Canada, and Global Affairs Canada. Their leadership and collaboration played an important role in enabling strong institutional partnerships and advancing this initiative.
