IBT College is excited to announce our collaboration with the countries of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. Mr. Joe Shokour, President of IBT College, met with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Technology, the Department of Educational Regulatory and Methodological Coordination of Vocational Education, the Ministry of Higher Education and these conversations centred around the shared vision of enhancing training opportunities for students and promoting academic growth.
In addition, IBT College met with the Ministry of Women and Family of Uzbekistan. IBT College is committed to exploring avenues of cooperation and support in empowering women through education and providing them with opportunities to thrive in their educational pursuits. IBT College will offer a specialized Personal Support Worker (PSW) program for women in Uzbekistan to provide them with the necessary skills to pursue meaningful careers in the healthcare sector.
Mr. Shokour participated in the ceremonial opening of IBT College’s Education Centre in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The occasion marked the establishment of a dedicated center where students could access IBT College resources, receive guidance, and pursue their educational aspirations in a supportive environment.
Recognizing the transformative potential of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies in education, IBT College expressed its willingness to assist in the development and integration of AR/VR tools within the educational system of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. This collaboration would enhance the learning experience for students and contribute to the modernization of the education sector.
IBT College is currently working with Tajik International University to open an IBT College Student Centre at the university, creating customized educational program tailored to the needs and interests of the students, faculty training and exchange.
The exchange of teachers and academic staff between IBT College and universities in the region was discussed as a means to foster knowledge-sharing, pedagogical development, and cross-cultural understanding. This exchange would enrich the learning environment and contribute to the professional growth of educators.
During his stay, President Shokour had the pleasure of meeting the families of IBT College students, forging connections and strengthening the bond between IBT College, Canada and the local community. IBT College was featured in the national newscast as well.
