May 3, 2023 IBT College held a Support Worker Appreciation Day to give special Awards of Merit to graduates of our healthcare program.
The Minister of Colleges and Universities, Jill Dunlop joined us to speak and present the students with the Awards. In addition to Minister Dunlop, we also welcomed MPP Stan Cho from the Ontario Government, Janet Daglish, National Director of Bayshore, Jason Lye, Vice-President, March of Dimes Canada and Ari Laskin, CEO of Career Colleges Ontario.
During the pandemic, we witnessed incredible achievements as individuals stepped forward to transition their careers and help their community. We saw newcomers who arrived in Canada from tragic circumstances graduate from our program, individuals who struggled with personal issues during the program successfully graduate and they are now working in Long-Term Care and we have seen our graduates spend time in the field and then enrol in Nursing programs. Truly inspirational stories. We are so proud of our healthcare heroes.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, we were unable to celebrate these healthcare heroes and now we have a chance.
We want to thank all the award winners and special guests who joined us.
