Toronto, Canada and Los Angeles, California, February 15, 2023 –IBT College is launching Canada’s first-ever Virtual Film School for content creators, a training ground for professionals in the burgeoning New Media industry.
There are now millions of professional content creators worldwide and one of the most desired careers among young people today is ‘YouTuber,’ so skilled creators who operate successfully within the creator economy need a pipeline.
IBT College is reimagining the next generation of Canadian filmmakers, content creators, and influencers.
Students will be working alongside instructors from UCLA, USC, and RHU. Lectures, workshops and instructors will include real-world industry leaders Frank Chindamo (Saturday Night Live, Ghostbusters), Jessica Palmadessa (TikTok star with 45 million likes), and Monica Ares, former Head of Immersive Learning at Meta and Facebook.

IBT College is partnering with Virtual Film School™ to bring this unique learning opportunity to Canada. Virtual Film School, founded in 2018 and based in California, are the global pioneers in using Web3 technology and Metaverse platforms to teach film, video, and new media to cutting-edge students around the world. For example, their partnership with Beijing Film Academy led their students to create the first-ever official TikTok promos used for the Olympics, for the 2022 Winter Games.
